چکیده

It has been shown that there is a decrease in the concentrations of 25 hydroxyvitamin D (25-OHD) and bone mineral density (BMD) patients with phenylketonuria (PKU) their follow-up. Our objective was to determine 25-OHD subjects PKU hyperphenylalaninemia (HPA). Transversal analytical study considered three groups: G1-PKU neonatal diagnosis formula intake without Phe; G2-HPA, specific treatment G3-C control group. Sixteen per group (aged 6-23) were included. Levels 25-OHD, lumbar spine (L2-L4), femur total BMD, intact parathormone (PTH) vitamin (VitD) calcium calculated. The Kruskal-Wallis statistical test applied (p-value<0,05). Significant differences detected between G2-HPA (38.9 ng/mL; 28 ng/mL, respectively) (NV: >30 ng/mL). had higher VitD, among groups. There no significant groups relation BMD PTH. In conclusion, under good adherence, does not present VitD deficiency alterations are observed. contrast, lower decreased which could affect architecture long term. Further studies on suggested.

The variation in free 25-hydroxy vitamin D and vitamin D-binding protein with season and vitamin D status

PURPOSE Serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D [25(OH)D] varies greatly with season at northern latitudes. The purpose of this study was to determine if the seasonal variations in serum total 25(OH)D are followed by a concomitant variation in free 25(OH)D or if the variation is damped by alterations in the binding capacity of DBP. METHODS Serum was collected from 540 healthy blood donors (60% men; mean a...
